Dr. Kimberly Haig was born and raised in Ashland, Ohio on a small family farm. She attended The Ohio State University (Go Buckeyes!) for 8 years, earning her Bachelor’s of Science in Animal Science and her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine. When entering veterinary school she intended on studying wildlife medicine and working in a zoo or sanctuary but quickly realized her passion for horses. After graduation, she completed an equine internship and practiced equine medicine here in Brevard County.
Dr. Haig made the switch to small animal medicine after moving to Baltimore, MD with her husband, Mike. She fell in love with small animal medicine and was able to experience a whole new aspect of veterinary medicine - the bond between owners and their pets. Dr. Haig strives to honor this bond as she practices veterinary medicine, whether it be through preventative care visits, diagnosing and treating a sick patient or end-of-life care.
After moving back to Melbourne, Dr. Haig practiced relief medicine for a few years and is thrilled to have landed at Animal Medical Clinic and is so happy to call it home. She lives with her husband, Mike, and young daughter Grace. She has a special place in her heart for the greyhound breed after having a retired racer named Seaser for 6 years.
When not working, you can probably find Dr. Haig at Disney or reading a good book. She also loves watching Buckeye Football, cooking, gardening and traveling to new locations.
